Packing groove made after forming of cone with metal spinning.
Precision Metal Spinning
Cone in stainless steel, Ø500 mm, 3 mm thick.
Example of projected part in multiple steps. Part is used for food handling and surface finish and that is obtained during forming with no need for additional polishing.
Advanced Metal Spinning – No Additional Polishing
Radar horn Ø 80 mm in stainless steel. Made by metal spinning without any heat treatments. Topflange welded on after forming. Advantages by spinning. All rotational symetric shapes are possible to form with little tooling investment. Is a bit slower than etc. deep drawing but the part can often be finished with cutting etc. in one operation.
Comprehensive Metal Assembly – No Heat Treatments
Cutting-Edge robot welded fittings on deep drawn sweep.
Innovative Metal Fabrication
Conventional deep draw in stainless steel, 1,5 mm.
Versatile Deep Draw Forming
Stainless steel cone i 2 mm material, Ø450 mm. Packing groove at the big end and welded flange for valve in the smaller end. Surface finish is perfect for application without secondary operations.
Custom Formed Cone with Welded Flange and Packing Groove
Floats in Monel and stainless. High demanding floats for special applications. Pressure tested 100 %. Strength from work hardning by hydro forming followed by flowforming.
Refined Hydroforming & Flowforming
All shapes are possible. This is for decoration in Tivoli gardens, Copenhagen. Nice organic shape although made from steel.
Flexible Shaping for Unique Design
Liner with packing groove Ø100, Hastelloy C-276. Made by deep drawing and spinning. Advantages of combining forming methods: The fast forming by deep drawing combined with details obtained by flowing material with spinning. Inside surface is very smooth due to the final spinning.
Precision Liner Forming
Flow formed cylinder, shaped from 4 mm thick stainless steel cup, reduced to 0,5 mm material during flow forming. Thickness variation less than 0,05 mm over the cylinder. Flowforming is cylindrical forming and is a great way to produce high precision cups and cylinders. We use a special machine with 3 rollers for this product.
High-Precision Flow Formed Cylinder
Cover in annodized aluminium Ø200 mm. Combination of deepdraw and flowforming. Olsen handle the sub contracting and deliver with surface treatment etc.
Combination of deepdraw and flowforming
Example of combined forming. Titanium Grade 1, 2 mm. First a deep draw, then flow formed on cylinder and shaped with flange. No welds, minimum material scrap.
Combined Forming with Minimal Waste
Cone, Hastelloy C-276, Ø30 – Ø300 mm, angle 25 degree. Made by projection. Starting thickness 4 mm, end thickness on cone, 1,2 mm. The projection process offers exceptional roundness with minimal work hardening, making it an excellent alternative to welded sweeps. This method eliminates the need for sanding of welds, a significant advantage in reducing additional finishing work. Additionally, it enables the achievement of a very good surface finish, further enhancing the overall quality of the product.
High-Quality Projection Forming
Big Ø900 mm cone, in stainless steel 5 mm. Projected in one pass and surface finish is without post treatment. Perfect roundness and no welds, no sanding.
Seamless Large Cone, One-Pass Formed
Cylinder with cone in 6 mm. aluminium. Ø400 mm, 1000 mm long. Example of very extensive forming from blank. No welding or sanding needed. Due to the properties of aluminium, workhardning is limited thus ratio between length and diameter can be high.
Advanced Forming Technique with No Welding
This flange, with a 5 mm thickness and a diameter of Ø400 mm, is a round, low-profile component typically used in various assemblies. Its precise dimensions and smooth finish ensure it meets the requirements for applications where a robust yet compact flange is essential.
Precision-Manufactured Flange
Cut in projected cone. The focus is on achieving an exact cut within the projected material. This technique involves cutting a material that starts at 4 mm thickness and is precisely reduced to 1 mm. The approach ensures a high level of detail and accuracy in the final component.
Precision Cutting in Projected Material
Metal spinned part in Alloy 601, 2 mm. After forming, 3D lasercut to obtain function as spring insert.
3D Laser Cutting for Precision-Formed Components
Metalspinned 4 mm stainless cone with fancy detail. An inside flange with bolt holes made by CNC spinning the edge in free form without tool support on the back. Saves a weld and extensive sanding.
